Referral process overview

1. A Youth Insearch staff member will:
  • Contact you (the person making the referral) for any missing information if required
  • Make contact with the young person and parent/guardian and arrange to meet
  • Seek written consent to the referral being made by both young person and parent/guardian
  • If consent is given, work through an Early Intervention Screening Tool with the young person to check fit for the program.
2. A local referral panel will assess and accept referrals. The panel involves the Queensland Police Service, Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support, and Department of Education.

3. Young people who have been accepted into the program and their parent/guardian will be contacted to get started in the program.
